Photo of Lucky the parrot

Lucky

Lucky is an Amazon Green, and was brought to us after his owners moved and could no longer accommodate him.  He had never been let out of his cage or given toys to play with, and was very withdrawn for his first two years with us.  However, he is now very much at home in our new aviary, and spends his time making sweet, little kissing noises.

George

George, our African Grey, came in as a sorry-looking stray, with most of his lovely feathers missing.  Inbetween squawks and whistles, he told us his name was George.  He is a brilliant mimic - his repertoire ranging from ringing telephones to film theme tunes.

Arnie

Arnie is a male, 16 year old White Umbrella Cockatoo, and quite a character. He loves to dance, and is very chatty. He greets every new person with a cheerful "Hello" and will then treat you to a display of his beautiful feathers.

Billy

Billy was originally thought to be male when she came to the shelter with her chum, Arnie, but is actually a female 28 year old Lesser Sulpha Cockatoo.  Like Arnie, she is a chatty thing, but is determined to confuse us all at the shelter, as she does good impressions of a cat meowing and a barking dog!  She can also follow that up with a cheeky laugh!

Spiky

Spiky is a Lesser Sulpha Cockatoo, and has wasted no time in making good friends with Billy. They are now inseparable.
