The Gander Boys

These are our three geese, nicknamed "The Gander Boys" by the shelter staff.

They were brought to us when Deer Park Farm in Knowle Lane closed down, and they can usually be found strutting around the yard.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Every spring we get many little ducklings brought in (like the ones shown above), after they are abandoned or left orphaned. 

We hand-rear them, and care for them, until they are strong and healthy enough to be released into their natural habitat. Some of them choose to stay with us, and we currently have a number of resident ducks, Sneezle, Kenni, Jemima, Amelia and Abigail - usually seen wandering in our fields, jumping into puddles!
