Our shelter is home to about thirty hens and six cockerels. Many of these have been rescued, after narrowly evading slaughter, despite being of a young age and in good health. They mostly enjoy hanging around the chicken house, catching up on gossip, but also have the run of the yard, occasionally being visited by our resident sheep.
